I turned a corner and saw all three of these magnificent animals up at the back of the field yet quite separated from one another. Over a period of ten minutes, they gradually came to investigate and almost by previous arrangement the tallest took the central position forming a vague triangle. This same central horse had a mischievous streak as for a further few minutes he refused to raise his right ear.

Looking back I remember that I had no set plan to photograph; merely to engage and admire but I was happy to have done the former.
