In a One to One environment, Charlie is able to specifically tailor his teaching and share his insights and perspectives in ways that are particularly pertinent to your own priorities across four days.
The tour is designed to be both an intensive learning experience as well as a very enjoyable few days making photographs.
Charlie has lived in Dorset for nearly 30 years and has become very fond of this glorious county.
Your time together with Charlie will focus on the landscape in and around Dorset and across the Cranborne Chase. You will find yourselves photographing a landscape that has no particular claim to fame but is just in Charlie's view, worthy of a visit. There are a number of possible locations in Dorset that will be visited and as always, weather and lighting conditions will dictate which of these will be suitable on the day in question. They will range from Win Green Hill on the Dorset / Wiltshire border to Sturminster Newton Mill, along with Knowlton Church and the Kingston Lacy Beech Tree avenue, Wardour Castle, Fiddleford Manor and the delightful Gold Hill in Shaftesbury. In addition, there may also be visits to Durdle Door and Kimmeridge Bay.
However, landscape photography does not go hand in hand with haste, so when you do find yourselves in a particular location where the lighting conditions are favourable, you shall take full advantage and linger a while. The weather can be capricious and the locations and the timings at those locations will be very weather dependent.
Tuition level will be aimed at the photographer who wishes to explore the finer aspects of composition and understanding of balance, harmony, shape and design all integrating to make a cohesive whole.
Following on from the tour, a critque of 5-10 images from the participant's portfolio from the tour will take place online after the tour at a time to suit all.
The tour will start at 10.30am on the first day, and conclude at 3pm on the fourth and final day. Dates will be arranged once the booking is made to suit both parties.
You will stay at The Grosvenor Arms in Dorset for three nights.

"Thank you very much for a wonderful time in Dorset last week. Despite the weather I enjoyed the trip very much and learned a lot. I am very impressed by your patience and enthusiasm."

"Just a quick note to say I really enjoyed Charlie Waite's presentation on Tuesday. I thought he struck a really good balance between his own images and speaking about those which had influenced him. It was also very refreshing to see how open he was about his own techniques and happy to share his "secrets". I appreciated that he was comfortable with sharing his own images and criticising some of them - he is obviously very highly critical of himself, and I guess that is part of what has got him where he is today. "“Not only did I learn loads on my two days with Charlie, I had a great time and despite the gloomy weather we made a couple of fantastic images which will soon be on the wall. Thank you to Charlie and the team, I hope this is only the beginning .” "
